Medicolegal Association of Maharashtra (MLAM) is the Maharashtra state official body in the field of Forensic Medicine, Medical Jurisprudence and Toxicology, founded in the year 1988 with an aim to provide a common platform not only to all the forensic experts but also to all those medical officers and private practitioners who are closely involved in day-to-day medicolegal work.

MLAM intends to encourage the academicians, improve the practice, elevate the standards and promote the progress of forensic medicine. MLAM is also involved in advising the state government and other government organizations on matters pertaining to forensic medicine.

Forensic medicine is a dynamic science and there is no end to its learning. Since its inception, MLAM is striving to spread and percolate the ever growing knowledge of legal aspects of medical practice and medical aspects of law amongst all the doctors involved in medicolegal practice. Tremendous advances are taking place in the field of Forensic Medicine, which are continuously changing the concept, approach to management and the outcome of several medicolegal issues. The rapid pace of these advances makes it mandatory for doctors to keep themselves updated, so that they may apply this information in dealing with various medicolegal issues and improve the quality of medicolegal services rendered. MLAM aims to achieve this end.
